The sun. Who doesn’t love that big shiny orange/yellow thing in the sky? The problem is we rarely see it in Scotland. And when we do (well, when I do) we can’t handle it!
I took the afternoon off on Friday to lie in the sun when the temperature rose to around 25 degrees Celsius, and promptly ended up in bed at 11pm with mild heat stroke and slept for 10 hours! Useless!
I had new sunscreen and everything – thanks Clinique for sending me your new SPF30 Anti Wrinkle Face Cream, and SPF 30 Virtu-Oil Body Mist to me to try. Both were great. I love the new oil spray – really easy to use. I do miss the lovely summery smell of sunscreen though with Clinique’s fragrance-free products. I also crocheted some sun to photograph them with!
I bought myself a bag I had been humming and hawing over for weeks, post-Pilates on Friday, at The Restoration Yard. The weather made me! It also set me and my husband off on a weekend filled with holiday planning. But as of yet, we have nothing booked…
Saturday wasn’t as sunny – the blue skies were engulfed by heavy dark clouds, and the rain poured down. But come Sunday evening, there it was again, that gorgeous sun, and I borrowed an old hat of my dad’s as my husband and I had a coffee in my parents’ garden.
My dad has Alzheimer’s. It’s like a big permanent cloud sitting above us, but, at times, it shifts to the side, and the sunlight gets through.
My dad was happy to see us, and have a cup of coffee and a doughnut in the later afternoon sunshine.
Let’s hope there are many more sunny days to come.
